Antenna Bad Read/Write
Faisal 2012-07-27 02:52:52
I have 2 Carprogs and 2 antennas and both do not read/write good.

Sometime I have to try more then 10 time before the antenna write transponder succesfully.
I have tried with and without 12Volt power supply and in almost all transponder position in the antenna-ring.
I have tried with a lot of different transponders.

It keepr saying: Transponder signal is too low.

Who has the same experience? Please tell us.
Who has some tips for us? Please tell us.

Thanx.[b]

hi faisal.
i have just bought my full carprog package and i have the exact same problem as you. ive also tried standing chip veticaly. horizontly in and out of ring ,centre and i think every possible way. with 12v and without 12v. and never had any success what so ever. it keep saying transponder signal too low . i emailed support with screenshots but they say they dont know. they have to see for themselves. i tried about 5 brand new tp23,id48.please let us know if you figure it out and i will also try.

Hi

THe CarProg it is the most succesufull tool up to now for Car key programing
You have to test transponder in and out key shell
Test it vertically and horisontaly
one time put one of the extrem of transponder at bottom and vice versa
When you put the transponder in antenna try to hold it with some plastic clips AND NOT WITH FINGER
I think this is the reason why it says
Signal is too low

hi .
i have tried everything you explained and it still says transponder signal too low. i try to read chip but same result.also at the moment i use a piece of press stick to hold one side of chip in different positions.i tried to only read a chip which was already coded to the car also out of key shell and it wont read to say wether its locked or not.not even id.can we not wire a reader from a loose car ignition instead?i am open to try any options at this point

i'm new to carprog so i might be making some mistakes somewhere.i see on the website that i must use any new tp48/id 48. thechip i using is a tp 23 which is an id 48 megamos crypto or so i'm told.can this make a difference?? secondly i am reading immo data from a polo dash wich is nec vdo dash but there isnt an option for this car so i'm reading via golf 6 2009 + online. i have managed previously to clone immo data on polo this way previously and it worked. i just cant seem to read and write chip. i have always tried to code chip out of shell, never in shell. can this be problem?? any advise pls?

Hi Again

Yes This is I think your most important problem
To prepare key and this key to be ready to start the car you must use
transponder ID 48
You must use ID ( TP ) 23 when you use VCDS
I have tested this soft in VW GOLF 5 and works very well
Second
In which car are you using?
Because not all cars need to prepare key
Did you check and harmness or any wire in antenna must be problem
Try to use ID 48 only

thank you for your reply. i am using tp23.i am told by supplier that it is an id48 chip. i checked the antenna,it seems to be ok.it is mesuring about 6.4 ohms when i test it with multimetre. the car this is for is a polo 2010 model.the type dash is a vdo with 24c32 eprom and nec mcu.i can read the data very well and change kms/vin and write, but cant code key with key for vag software.i am working on the table and not on car. i read somewhere that this car you need to prepare dealer key. correct?
thanks

Yes indeed

For this type of car you need to prepare transponder key to start the car and this is the mission of
S4.8 software
In VW GOLF 4 what you need it is pin code but in these generations you need to prepare transponder key
but i recommend to use the car prog directly to car and not and not in the table and soon your transponder will be ready to start the car
Hope I have been helpful to you

so the tp23 is incorrect? can you supply me correct chip?this software was supposed to make key from the saved file which i got from the car.i can always write chip and load file when cluster is back in car.you are very helpfull.thank you for your direction.

Yes The ID 23 it is incorrect
You can use the ID 23 only if you have VCDS tool to match the key
But with soft you have to use ID48 chip can and it works well as I did with VW golf 5
and the key was programmed less than 5 min
