x5 cant start cant crank need help

| hi am having problem with my bmw car cant start cant even crank i get this fault code 148 EWS 3.3 INTERFACE DME-EWS i have try to programme new key carprog but still cant start and cant crank any help will be much helpfull br |

| Hi, Lets take it step by step, 1. what diagnostic tool are you using? 2. your fault code indicated that your Ews and the Dme Cannot see each other. 3. in both cases you should still have your car cranking. if your car doesnt crank that means problem is in EWS not DME. so you should program your key first if you already done that then you should read the live date of your key. again im not sure what diagnostic you are using. but if you are using a good one then you should check live data of your key. 4. there are 2 types of codes fixed codes which dont change and random codes which do change. if you write your random code on a piece of paper then turn off ignition for 20 seconds and then turn back on you should find your random key number changes. if that is the case and your key random number has changed then key is okay and Carprog program key fine. 5. so now everything is okay but EWS cannot understand the key. What you can do is read EEprom Data for EWS using Carprog and Write it on Any EWS even a used one no problem.. 6. Alignment between EWS and DME maybe required since the random code of EWS and DME has been changed, but 70% the car might turn on. 7. if you follow these steps carefully Worst cast senario your car will get a Crank. then you must do Alignment.
