| I have 2 Carprogs and 2 antennas and both do not read/write good. Sometime I have to try more then 10 time before the antenna write transponder succesfully. I have tried with and without 12Volt power supply and in almost all transponder position in the antenna-ring. I have tried with a lot of different transponders. It keepr saying: Transponder signal is too low. Who has the same experience? Please tell us. Who has some tips for us? Please tell us. Thanx.[b] |

| Hay Ebrahim, Your problem has nothing to do with ID48 or ID48-TP23. Also it has nothing to do with your reading software. You can use both Megamos transponder, that is for sure. And both will work good. Only if you plan to do keylearning with VCDS then you need TP23. Like CAR wrote. I had the same problem. Antenna was not able to read/write. I found out that I have to stand transponder vertically in a special position. Now my antenna works 90% good. I am confinced that this had to do with my antenna in particular. Because our second Carprog antenna do work fine. My collega made me a plastic device that hold the transponder in the right position. So, my advice to you: do not lose your time asking yourself wether you use right transponder or not...this is not your problem. |

| Hi. Sorry to hijacking old tread. But I have the same problem with TRANSPONDER SIGNAL TO LOW. I've tried about 10 different immo chips plus my genuine VW key. All without luck - still the same. So I think there is the problem with Carprog Antenna. We shouldn't build up some kind of "special stand" for the transponder. In my opinion the signal from the antenna is not strong enough. This what I have found on one of the forums about this problem: Hello there, yesterday and today i did i little research aroud transponder section of carprog hardware, becouse i always got the message - antenna not connected when i tried to read a key with transponder. I found the datasheet for HTRC110 - this is the ic that is responsable for communication with transponders through its antenna. The antenna is a simple coil, and it should form a serial lc circuit with the capacitors soldered on the pcb. The antenna's inductance (i measured mine) is 283 µH. To form a serial resonant circuit at 125 khz we need a capacitor with aproximately 6 nF (i put in my carprog a 7.4 nF becouse that was what i found). Now my carprog is reading the transponder (i have only one from my caddy). Here are the mods i did: 1. replaced 150k with 15k (resistor) 2+3+4 here we need to solder a capacitor with aproximately 6-7 nF(put one or combine from 2-3 capacitors) 5. removed 100 nF capacitor 6. removed 100 pF capacitor in position 2 it was a 2.8nF capacitor in pos 3 it was 0.5 nF cap in pos 4 it was 100 nF cap But I'm not going to do it, why should I ? My one is still under the warranty so I'm not going to touch it. So please can someone from Codecard explain me why is it happen. Thanks Alex |

| I think I resolved the problem. The transponder must be in vertical position. Not horizontal. Works fine than | ||||
